Hmm I think we should focus on one quest at a time... Clearly the six inner-most rings are correct because of the clicking sound it made... That or we set off a trap... To early to tell really... But I think we should think of a word that would make sense with Mimurr.... Something consisting of four letters....that's not a vulgarity of course!

Bort's combination has no effect.

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
I suppose you are right. Our Monkey dragon quest can wait. Hmmm... The writing says "Vinult" four times which is the equivilent of praise or hail, but it won't fit. It speaks of fire or "Ixen" in draconic five times, but I already tried that. I tried King and it didn't work. I know, I'll just put in "nurh" Bort then starts to turn the dial as he quietly snickers to himself.

Stand back and prepare to be amazed!
Gaius walks over to the door and arranges the letters to spell hail. Upon doing so, the ground begins to rumble and the door slowly lowers into the earth revealing a long stairway leading down into darkness.

- Spoiler:
I know that you know the word that you needed to use is "hail" and I also know you are using a draconic translator. However, when I crafted this wonderful dungeon I used only the wonderful resource of my mind. My assumption was that because none of us truly have the time to actually understand a foreign language (let alone a made up language), it is best to just simply treat the writing of a language in DnD as english if the character understands it. For example, all three of the characters in this quest know how to read, write, and speak draconic. Also when using it in writing I really wanted to have some type of draconic script which would consist of 36 characters which would directly translate into the English alphabet and numerals.....
I did find the translator that you probably used and it's a nifty tool and perhaps we can begin to incorporate resources like that into our adventures. But for now, I feel like we should just move on and work on languages some other time....

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
Gaius smiles with delight.
Well thank you very much Bort! Now then, before we head down there I have a little gift for you two. Manus! Give me those compasses please.
Gaius' familiar hands him two compasses and then returns into his pack
We might need these to save from getting disoriented down there... dungeons tend to do that. So just in case keep these close by!
He hands them the compasses
Now, shall we descend into the unknown?

WHERE THINGS ARE:The sealed doorways to and from the room are located @ the north border of the (5,9) square and the south border of the (5,1) square. For now Turn order will be Kran, Gaius, Bort (since that is the order in which they went down the stairs. Gaius will be located at(4,9) Kran @(5,9) and Bort @(6,9). There are 3 dead bodies which appear to have been hear for a long time at (3,8 ), (8,6), and (1,5). Also clearly visible are four levers which are located at (1,7), (1,3,) (9,7), and (9,3).

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
As Kran investigates the body of the dead adventurer, he notices that he is dressed in plain old fashioned ratty leather armor. But he is wearing a small satchel labeled "first aid". inside the bag, he finds 10 potions of vitality and 3 potions of fire resistance (lvl 14).
While continuing to scan the room for clues, hints, and a better impression of the purpose of such a small room he notices on the ceiling a series of small rectangular recesses. These however are also sealed tight. The walls are very dungeon-esc and appear to have been chiseled to form its current shape from existing cave walls.
Though Kran is well versed in dragon/kobold lore, no bits of useful information comes to mind.
While Kran is putting on a truly fearsome face in order to intimidate the door, The Door fears no one.

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
- perception:
- Bort finds that the body has no noticable cuts, or any other type of bodily injuries which could have led to their deaths. They seem to have died recently... roughly about a week or so ago. As he searches the body he finds a first aid kit identical to the ones found by Kran and Gaius.
- insight:
- He is as dead as anything that's ever died
- history:
- While Bort cannot decide if it was a couple of eggs, buttered toast, or some other tasty dish that he had for breakfast a two days ago, he does notice that he is feeling very hungry now! (until Bort eats something like trail rations or what not, he will take a -5 penalty to any endurance checks made)

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
As much as I enjoy the company you two offer, I think maybe we should try to get out of this place. Bort says somewhat boringly, as it is lacking the usual strange, quirky, and occasionally irritating nature of most of his statements. He then steps over to the nearest lever(9,7) and pulls it down.

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
After pulling down the lever, a loud mechanical noise sounds off. the sound resembles the sound one would hear if gears began to move or metal pieces start to shift around. Then all of the sudden, the small recesses in the ceiling start to move as if to open. As they open, water rushes down from above and starts to fill the room
- Spoiler:
So from this point on (until you manage to escape) water will slowly flood the room. After each player has completed two rounds, the water level in the room will have risen about 6". When the water level reaches 3', it will be considered to become difficult terrain. If it continues filling.... I guess we will have to take into account how tall everyone is to know when you have to start swimming. You don't need to worry about it yet but the room's ceiling is about 20 feet high. It's Kran's turn!

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
Barely audible, analogous to an echo from an upstairs room while sitting alone in front of a fire downstairs in your study in an empty house in the middle of winter, Kran and Gaius here a noise emanate from their sneaky comrade. Over the sound of gears turning and of the rush of water heard all around them they make out a single word. "Baallllsssssss....."
