Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
As Kran pulls the lever there seems to be no real effect. Giaus how ever has a strange look on his face in reaction to the movement of the lever.
Hmm..... all of the sudden I feel a strong arcane presence in the room. One thing's for sure: something happened as a result of you pulling that lever...
Gaius moves towards Kran to get a better look at the lever but is abruptly halted. He raises his hand to his head and rubs it as if he'd been struck.
Well now, it seems that the lever has activated some sort of arcane barrier... This has made our situation go from slightly problematic to downright difficult.... Let me see if I can figure out how to get to another lever...
Gaius makes his move with his hands stretched out feeling for the walls as he moves along.

- Spoiler:
So from now on (and i know this may take some time...) the pcs will have to move carefully to navigate through the invisible barriers. I don't know if there is a set rule for obstacles like this but for now, to move carefully, you will take a -2 penalty to you speed and each time you move to a square tell me what it is and i will tell you what squares are available to move into.
- Move:
Gaius moves to squares (1,5), (1,4), (2,4), and stops at (3,4)

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
As Bort navigates through the invisible maze Kran too makes his way through the transparent corridors and finds his way to one of the four levers. Kran smirks a bit and then pulls the lever down. His smile soon dissipates however. A loud clicking sound is heard and is quickly followed by an electric current which is shot through the water shocking the adventurers. After recouping from the shock, the heroes shake it off and continue to make their way through the maze. Water continues to flow into the room and by now, has filled the room with up to 6ft of water causing Gaius to have to start swimming. Luckily Bort was able to gather his senses quickly after the jolt of electricity and successfully navigates through the maze to the last lever. As soon as he pulls it, the water begins to drain from the room and the invisible walls of the room disappear. Once all of the water has drained from the room, both doors open and the heroes are free to continue their quest...

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
The heroes venture forth through the doorway. As they pass through, they see that they are in a stone walkway which leads up. There are torches lit on both sides of the walkway leading them to a new room. As soon as they enter the room, a large stone pillar comes smashing down from the ceiling above barely missing the heroes as they leap out of it's path. The pillar however now completely seals off the path from which they came. The room they find themselves in now is well lit, rectangular in shape and has a small statue in the middle of the room. The statue is a depiction of a confused Kobold with his arms crisscrossed and pointing to the left and right. Incidentally to the left and the right are two stone doors. The room is small and is about 40' from the door on the left to the door on the right, and about 20' from the blocked path the adventures came from to the back wall. There appears to be no other noteworthy feature to this room...

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
As Kran looks around the room, he notices nothing out of the ordinary aside from a statue in the middle of the room. While scanning the room for clues of what to do next, he recalls reading about some rooms like this in the book "Dungeons, Dungeons, Dungeons!" which detailed various characteristics of dungeons such as this one. Rooms like this were called "decision rooms". They are rooms which split the path through a dungeon in two or more different branches. Often times there are mechanisms (switches, levers, buttons, and such) to control which one of the branches is open and accessible to the traveler. But because it is a decision room, only one path is typically available at a time and sometimes once a decision is made, it cannot be unmade.
Kran contemplates over what to do as Gaius and Bort also examine the room...
That is a good question... want to take a vote? Gaius says half in jest.

Oh, I read about this in a book. This is a decision room. We make a choice and we won't be able to change our mind....

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
Kran, in passing, notices that both doors are without handles, door knobs, or anything of the sort. They must then be opened using some sort of mechanism which is unseen.

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
Bort approaches the statue and examines it closely. He runs his hand around the statue searching for a switch of some kind.
Do you think we could force one of those doors? Bort says aloud to his comrades.

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
Bort finds no switch of any kind. The statue seems to be made of stone. It has a square base but no other special feature about it aside from the figure of a confused Kobold which stands on top of the square stone base
Hmmm I'm not very strong...and aside from that, there has to be some sort of trigger, latch, switch, lever...something. Then again, it never hurts to try... right Kran?
Gaius looks at his large friend waiting for a response.

Re: The Legend of the Silver Scepter
As Kran pulls on the statue's arm, the arm remains still, the statue is made of stone. But as he pulls, the statue moves a bit and Kran realizes that it is not as heavy as it appears, and that he can slide it easily.
