The quest begins

Dreams.... everything feels like dreams..... A loud roar surrounds me.... This entire place is shaking.... You jolt awake. Where am I.... Your voice trails off into the darkness. You are in a cell... or cage... Is there a difference? I've been here awhile... At least I think I have.... I don't remember.... I just woke up here. My dream.... Was it a dream? There were creatures... goblins! And a girl... I remember her voice. Was she real? How many times have I woken up like this in this place...I still feel like I'm shaking... Did I just get here.... No! WHO ARE YOU! Your voice echoes across the small chamber. You are not alone. Cutting through the dark you see a pair of eyes.... Fear overwhelms you... Why am I afraid...I feel the Rumbling... I feel like I'm shaking... Screams.... I remember screams from my dream. Was that a dream? The girl... she was screaming....the goblins... they were hurting her... No... There was someone else... But she was so strong.... I was screaming... he was hurting me..... who is he? Where is she.... She was in a cage.... The eyes are still watching.... from another cage.... You are not the only captive.... But it is not her....

A tremendous noise roars through the stone walls. Your cell is violently shaking just like in your dream.... you weren't dreaming.... The floor beneath you is slowly cracking... A huge piece of the wall falls besides contorting the wall of bars that held you captive. You can escape.

Two strangers now stand in a small stone room. A closed wooden door is ahead of you. There are six cages in the room but all are empty now. Rubble abounds as sections of the place have fallen but that door is the only path forward now.

As the world comes back into focus for him, Bowen Craghammer looks to the door as the shaking ground beneath him gives him cause for concern....

Right... Now I think it's time to go!

The door(with a little bit of force) opens wide. Outside is a stone hallway of similar construction to the room you are currently in. The hallway is lit and travels both to the right and to the left.

The dwarf looks back to the room before venturing further and shouts out to the other stranger.

Well? Are ye gonna sit there like a rock or are ye commin' with me? By the looks of this place, I don't think yer gonna want ta stay here!

Storms no! Thank you for pulling me a shore, friend.

Frankie stands, steadies himself, and follows the dwarf.

My memory is fuzzy, I may have a head injury.  Are you experiencing any dizziness or blurred vision?  Memory loss?  I am sorry,  What may I call you friend?

Aye, a wee bit...
He rubs his temples and shakes his head
Mah name is Bowen... I think I remember somethin' 'bout some goblins ... and some lass talkin' ta me.... Ach! We need ta get goin'! We'll be best off figurin' all this out somewheres else! Follow me laddie, let's get outta here!
Bowen takes off running down the passageway to the right looking for any sign of the outside world or a way out of the building crumbling around him...

Running to the right you quickly spot the end of the hallway as a large wooded door similar to the one you exited.

Bowen attempts to open the door.

You easily open the unlocked door and look inside the room. The room is quite similar to the room where you started, but is devoid of metal bars. Instead there is a pile of hay in one corner, a broken and empty wooden barrel, a large wooden crate, some rough burlap material, and a rusted weapon rack containing a long sword. A quarter staff is propped in the corner as well.

Bowen grabs the longsword and moves to investigate the large wooden crate

Wait for me. Frankie follows down the hallway into the room, then grabs the quarter staff off the wall. What's the plan Bowen?

Ah, I'd call you by name but I don't know it yet.....Well laddie, first we see what's in this wee box then we get to the other side of the hallway....

Bowen attempts to open the large wooden crate...

I am sorry, I am absent minded sometimes. I am Franklin.  He aids Bowen in opening the crate.

The lid lifts easily off the of the crate throwing dust into the air. You each sift through some scraps of leather and chips of wood finding an old set of padded armor, hide armor, and two cloth knapsacks.

Well now! What have we got here!
Bowen reaches for the hide armor and one of the knapsacks
Go on Frankie, grab yer gear an lets get outa here! We can gear up once we get free of this place
Bowen continuing to eye the building crumbling around him slings the knapsack onto his back and takes the armor under his left arm as he goes back into the hallway. He waits for Franklin to join him.

Franklin grabs the padded armor, places the leather scraps as well as some of the chips of wood into the remaining knapsack, and then begins to prod through the hay pile with his quarterstaff in search of hidden things and such.  I wonder where out is once we get there?

The pile of hay appears to be filled with hay. No other objects are discovered by the probing.

Franklin then, after finding nothing, joins Bowen out in the hallway.

Right then... off we go!
Bowen runs down the hallway to follow the path that was to the left upon exiting the room where he started

Franklin follows frantically.

Moving down the hall, the pair pass by the room where they started and continue moving. To the left there is another door of similar construction to the one in which you started. Up ahead the hallway looks slightly hazy for some unknown reason.

Frankie tries the room to the left.

The door opens with a gentle push. Inside is a small room very much like the one you ventured out of originally, but instead of multiple cages, there is only one large cell. A small table, a chair, and a bed are inside of the cell. The bed is not the same rough material you found earlier. A mattress sits upon a short wooden table with linen covers. A king would never lower himself to a bed such as this, but a beggar would dream of such quality. The door of this cell is open.

We don't have no time for this! This place is fallin' in on us let's find a way out!

Bowen cautiously approaches the hazy area.....
