okay, I didn't adequately describe the area in which you are in.....

We are all standing by a bonfire. Surrounding the bonfire are the dead Kobolds and close to the fire is a 12ft tall wooden dragon totem. To the north is a longhouse type structure. To the North West are a series of huts. Directly East of the bonfire area is a clearing which seems heavily traveled though it is too dark to tell what lies ahead. To the South West are a couple of tools, bags, and a wheel-barrel

Something to consider Kran has been fighting kobolds since he arrived in this area.

for Bort:
-perception: You see before you a large wooden totem with the shape of a dragon's head at the top. It has been carved with other images on the sides of the totem. The images show people, things the people are holding, a dragon and a cave

-History: You recall reading about how some Kobolds have a strong reverence of Dragons and have been reported to do the bidding of dragons and make sacrifices to those dragons. You have a strong feeling that this totem has something to do with their worship of dragons.

-Arcane: You notice nothing magical about the totem. It's a wooden totem.

-Thievery: All of the sudden the totem has disappeared from view and Bort seems to have grown a very large and awkward hump.....(lets see how good your endurance checks are! From now on, you MUST make an endurance check to maintain your composure and continue holding the totem. If you fail, you drop the totem and your cover is blown. IN ADDITION, your speed is reduced by 3)


Checks for Kran:
- Perception: the party is about 100 ft away from the longhouse to the north, 200 ft from the huts to the NW, the path leading W is clearly visible and looks to be well traveled, and the tools and stuff are located about 230 feet SW from your position

- Nature: While Kran can smell all of the smells that he smelt with his smelly nose before, he can now smell the scent of the ocean in the air coming from the West

- History: Kran recalls nothing specific about this scenario but does know the same as Bort that Kobolds regularly worship dragons and that could be the purpose of this little outpost and the reason for the totem.... which is no longer anywhere to be found!

- Streetwise: Kran listens for any gossip in the area....... but he hears no rumors and learns nothing.
